Besides Connersvine? That’s tough! I don’t think I can narrow it down to just one.
I mean, you start with the “old dead guys” like Mozart and Beethoven, who really set the stage for modern music with their innovative works. There’s a whole host of other “old dead guys” too numerous to list that took what the older, deader guys did and molded and shaped that to something new. Then you move to Scott Joplin, another creative and inventive musician who helped to shape our world. Fast forward to the 50’s and the face of music changed again with groups like Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, the Morells… Each left an indelible mark on modern music.
As far as recent bands, I certainly have some favorites, but I’m not sure they would be lableled the “greatest band in the history of music.” Garth Brooks, Third Day, Jeremy Camp, Aerosmith, Megadeth… Each group/artist is fantastic for its own sound, heart, and feel of music.
How’s that for a long, drawn out non-answer?!

well if i had to narrow it down it becomes quite hard but if i had to saw the best band i would go with DC Talk because of how they influenced me as a young adult and how strongly rooted there lyrics were
I am wondering what to put here. I agree with both of the people before me. And it is true, it all depends on what you are feeling, whether or not you are looking at the band as they helped you, how they shaped the musical world, how popular they were like with sales and such, or how memorable they are.
For these different topics i think i have a couple answers.
-For most helpful to me: Sonicflood, dc Talk, Casting Crowns, ThirdDay, Dashboard Confessional, Suburban Legends.
-Musical Icons: the Beatles, Metallica, Green Day, Queen, Cream, and probably more, my brain is just not operating right now.
-Sales wise: definitely Green Day(again), U2, the Beatles(again), MxPx, Relient K, to name a few
-Memorable:Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith, Green Day(again), Metallica(again), U2(again), to name a few here as well.
I guess it just depends on what you like, or what mood your in. Cuz after that, you also got great one namers, like John Mayer, John Lennon after the Beatles, Shakespeare, Mozart, Elton John etc..
So yea, thats a long answer, but i think i covered it…kinda.

Is this a trick question? Why do I feel a sermon is waiting in the midst? Oh well, the greatest band of all time is Elvis. To be the greatest of anything means you have to be elevated above all the rest,so that would include more than being musically talented but also what you represent. Elvis was before my time as a music lover but I’ve read amazing things about him.He was a great guy always helping people out.A God fearing man.Fans loved Elvis from the inside out.Just the way we love Connersvine!!!!!!!
best band in history of music…. well I dont have a wide rage of music taste… dont listen to much secualr except for Jonas Brothers, and U2 but what got me listening to music was Hanson and Nsync… but i think the two best bands are of course Connersvine and Audio Adrenaline and Sanctus Real!

I like them all except rap or heavy metal. Can tolerate some country. But I guess you have to go with the Fab Four of John, Paul, George, and Ringo aka the Beatles. Love Christian and Southern Gospel aka the Gaithers!

We just returned home from Winter Jam. My children attended. I didn’t. I worked late at the newspaper office in downtown Little Rock while I waited for the Jam to end. So I didn’t hear Connersvine until we were home, and I played my $5 CD (the Chris and Hunter know what I’m talking about) on the home stereo.
Connersviine is, indeed, the best band in the history of music. Nice to meet you guys.

Secular - Rush.
Christian - Casting Crowns. However, Skillett really impresses me as well.
I saw Connersvine last night at Winter Jam and I plan on downloading their album from Amazon.com soon.

i like this question. especially since i can’t say the beatles because we know how chris feels about them. jk. =). not really. i would have to say anything that steps away from your normal every day same-old music and challenges you to hear different sounds is great…that being said i’ll say some of my favorites. i really like derek webb - he is great. as you know since he is a label-mate of yours. i like this guy peter blasser- he makes up his own instruments and electronic items. and i enjoy any band mike patton tends to frequent. coconut records is good band consisting of jason schwartzman.

Any of you ever hear of Watershed? How about the Firemen? They are awesome Christian accapella groups. What ever happened to All Together Seperate? Those guys were great but I haven’t heard anything from them in a long time. As far as “Greatest band in history” I appreciate too many genres of music to be able to narrow it down to only one.
I don’t think I can narrow it down to just one for me. I like a broad range of music so I’d have different choices in different categories. If we are going strictly by what speaks to me the most at the moment my choices would be: Todd Agnew, BarlowGirl, Jeremy Camp, and John David Webster (what can I say…I’m proud to be a Hoosier) Speaking of that fact…I think you guys should do an Indiana tour…you, JD and Jeremy Camp…sound good??
