Ok, I don’t like to talk about this. Nor do I like to mix my two professions, but I am officially a free agent now. (in football terms, hopefully not Connersvine terms) This is an interesting time. It’s the first time in 10 years that I’ve been out there for the taking by other teams. So far there is plenty of interest and, Lord willing, I’ll be headed to my new football home (contractually anyway) in a week or two. Just wanted it to be known that this doesn’t effect Connersvine. I am not leaving the band (although they would probably do better without me, no false humility, It’s true). We will function as per usual in the music season while I am elsewhere during the fall. I predict our situation as a band will even improve with this change. There are lots of things to pray for and I don’t presume that anyone has time to pray for a football player musician who is (at least halfway) unemployed. However, if you think of it please pray for God’s perfect placement for my family and me. It means a lot. Thanks!

Its amazing how you can live in one state your entire life and still find new towns across this beautiful place that I have never heard of. Tonight we played in Amboy, IN another place that I didn’t know existed and never thought I would get to perform in. We had a great time meeting everyone and were very warmly welcomed. We
honestly love everywhere we get to play but there is something about small towns in Indiana that will always have a special place in Connersvine’s heart. The receptions are always warm and the people are always great.

My favorite story of the night was probably when a young girl asked Alex our drummer to sign her tshirt and to the dismay of her mother he signed her hand with a permanent marker. The poor girl after scrubbing on it for hours tonight will be left having to explain to her friends at school tomorrow that some drummer signed her hand against her wishes.

Hello. We are calling it a day after a busy couple of weeks and a very busy weekend. Friday night we had a wonderful time up in Sweetser, IN at Liberty Baptist Church. We met some new friends and had a great time of worship together. However, we didn’t get home until around 1:30am that evening and had to be at Traders Point Christian Church at 6:30am Saturday morning.

The day was long but great on Saturday. We were so thankful to be a part of the event with Tony Dungy and the rest of the CCN crew. We didn’t leave TPCC until around 3pm Saturday then went home and crashed! We got to come back to TPCC Sunday morning and lead worship for their two Services. It has been a terrific weekend but a tiring one as well. So…I am going to sleep!

Today Hunter and I returned home after a traveling on and off for the past couple weeks promoting “Hero” to radio stations all across the country. We have had a wonderful response to the song and are excited about what God is doing through it.

Last night we had dinner in Portland, OR with one of my favorite authors Donald Miller. Also, with good friends Wade Trimmer and Hannah Harrod from The Mentoring Project (formerly the Belmont Foundation). It was great getting to see them and hear what they are up to.

This Friday night we will be in Sweetser, IN at Liberty Baptist church at 8:00pm. Also, Saturday morning from 9 am to 1pm we will be performing at Traders Point Christian Church here in Indy with Tony Dungy as he promotes his new book “Uncommon”. Then, we will be coming back to TPCC Sunday morning to lead worship for their two morning services at 9am and 10:45am. If you are in the area we would love to see you!

Hey folks, Chris and I are continuing to promote “Hero”. It is going well but we need your help!

This is a shameless appeal to all of you to call in to your local (or extra-local) radio station and request our song. We are very excited about this song and the process of promoting it. God is using it and we are just excited to join in His purposes. Thanks!!

Also, feel free to comment with your local radio station’s phone number’s if you are so inclined.

Ok, ok, I am a bad blogger. For those of you wondering if maybe the other side of Connersvine doesn’t exist or can’t spell I am here to defuse all of that. Although, I must admit, I just now found out that “Twitter” isn’t a word describing car speakers or some kind of old school cartoon character.

At any rate, I am back. I miss the blog world and I am asking you to hold me accountable. I am doing well, and Connersvine is on the roar right now. It’s music season!

Hey all, I received this message this morning via Myspace and was so touched by the story. I asked if it was ok for me to share it and they said we could. You never know when God gives you a song how He will use it to minister… Chris

Hi,
We just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thanks for the song Hero. My son (7) and I heard it for the first time this morning on the way to dropping him off at school. His father passed away July 1st last year due to PTSD from a trip to Afghanistan with the Marines. My son is 7 and although a rock of understanding, he misses him so much. He thinks of him as his hero angel that watches him. So when he heard your song this morning he said it was on the radio cause his dad sent it to him to listen and know he’s here in the car with us right now. I started crying and so did he… only with a smile on his face. I know a song can mean many different things to many different people and I’m not sure if anyone ever tells you their encounter with hearing a song for the first time but I thought I’d share how it really touched our lives.

Thanks again!

Alright! This morning we woke up in Sarasota, FL and had a great time being on Joy FM. “Hero” seemed to be well received and they have been so supportive of “Live For You”.

Once we left the station we raced to the Sarasota airport where we just barely made our flight. From there we flew to Baltimore, MD. From the airport we drove to the restaurant Clyde’s where we met Ben and Angela from WGTS. We had a wonderful time hanging with them for a couple hours and could have stayed even longer if we didn’t have to drive to New Jersey. Being landlocked in Indy makes me really appreciate good seafood (I had steamed mussels).

I am now in my hotel room somewhere in New Jersey and tomorrow morning we will be on WAWZ which has a huge listening area from Philadelphia to NYC!

We will be heading home after that where I get to hang out with my wife for her birthday!

We will be going back on the road next week visiting Chicago, Minneapolis, Seattle, and Portland, OR. Check back in and I will keep you updated!

Have a great Valentines Day (guys remember its this Saturday)!

Howdy! (sorry we have been in Texas and its beginning to rub off).

Well, this morning we started our day at the beautiful ranch of John and Sherry Rivers. We had a great opportunity to hang and share our music with the K-LOVE listeners. We spent a couple hours talking and performing live. The Rivers Ranch is not your ordinary Texas ranch. John and Sherry own a couple Camels, Llamas, peacocks, and other interesting creatures. Hunter’s son Josiah got to pet the wildlife. After we left the ranch we hopped on a plane for Orlando, FL where we got to have dinner with Jeff Cruz from Z88.3 and his family. We had a wonderful time getting to see Jeff again and getting to meet his terrific wife and two kids Eli and Naomi.

Tonight we are crashing in Sarasota where we will be on Joy FM around 8:45am.
Another great day!

Hello all. Right now we are finally calling it a day! We have had a crazy and wonderfully busy day of visiting radio stations around Texas. Last night we flew into Houston and drove to Lufkin, TX and arrived at our hotel around midnight. We started the day visiting KSWP (in Lufkin) at 6:45am. Then we drove a couple hours back to Houston where we stopped at KSBJ. Then hopped back in the car for a few more hours to Austin where we performed a short set at KPEZ. Next we drove about 4 hours over to Dallas and had the opportunity to have dinner with Hunter’s parents before calling it a night at John and Sherry Rivers ranch where tomorrow morning we will be on KLOVE.

If you are in a listening area for KLOVE be sure to listen to us around 8:00am (central time). It has been a full and exciting day and we are EXHAUSTED! Check back in and I will do my best to keep you updated on our trip because we are just getting started!
